Protecting You From Vascular Disease in Manhattan

If Dr. Milani suspects that a patient has decreased blood flow somewhere in the peripheral vascular system (arms, legs, neck), she may perform vascular studies to evaluate signs and symptoms of decreased blood flow in the arteries and/or veins, or vein disease. When someone has abnormal blood flow in arteries and/or veins, they may also have:

  • Leg pain or weakness during exertion
  • Leg swelling or edema
  • Redness, soreness, tenderness or warmth in the leg(s)
  • Pale, cool skin; grayish or blueish skin
  • Numbness or tingling
  • Resting or reclining foot pain that is relieved by sitting or standing
  • Fatigue and tiredness
  • Fainting/dizziness

Vascular studies use special nonsurgical ultrasound technology, including Doppler ultrasound and color Doppler. If you experience any of the symptoms listed above, or you have questions about your circulation or vascular health, call Dr. Milani’s office today.
